Waka Waka (This time for Africa). Yes after months of waiting, the football fever is back and Africa finally has the privilege to play host to this prestigious event. Football fanatic Android users have more reasons to celebrate thanks to the 2010 World Cup application by Luke Chan, feeding them updates with what’s happening during the world cup. 🙂 Do bear in mind though that the apps are not real time and often gets updated within a minute or two. Will try playing around with the settings later to see if there’s any options to be set on the update frequency. You can download them off the market.

2010 World Cup by Luke Shan

This is a very simple, straight forward application. It lists out the matches that are currently being played and with just a click you’re presented with a screen in which the highlights of the matches will be displayed. Simple yet effective application that gets the job done. More details here

This application is a bit more comprehensive compared to the previous one. Plus it has an awesome interface. The application displays a list of games based on the Groups and displays it in an easy to understand format. Apart from that, the application also has statistics that is updated during the match which makes it more interesting to know how many shots were kicked on target or how many corner kicks were made. The app also displays the lineup for the match! Aside from the missing team and player stats, you basically have the World Cup in your hands 🙂

Will be on the lookout for more World Cup applications or if you know of any that you use to keep track of the games do let me know so I can add it up as well. In the mean time enjoy the games and let the best team win 🙂

  2. It’s nice to have a good nights sleep and to have the results and highlights of the match at the tips of your hands as soon as you get up 🙂
