Going around town lugging your notebook looking for a hotspot to check your emails or to just do some work will soon be a thing of the past. Last week P1 & Intel held a sneak peak to their latest collaboration; WiMAX enabled 4G notebooks !! Yes, tomorrow 29th June 2010 onwards 4G notebooks and netbooks will be hitting our stores with some incredible subscription deals from P1 as well.

P1 & Intel are currently working with 6 oem partners (Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, MSi and Toshiba) to bring forth the next generation of notebooks and netbooks so variety is definitely not going to be an issue here. There are also 4 other countries that have implemented WiMAX and guess what, Malaysia is the first country in South East Asia to provide such a service even before Singapore and Hong Kong !!

Now I’m pretty sure a lot of you are relieved to know that the WiMAX modem will be built into the notebooks, after all how often have you left home to only figure out later that you forgot to bring along your dongle with you, I know it has happened to me more than once.

There hasn’t been any official announcement on the pricing of the notebooks or the packages that P1 will be introducing during their launch, so do keep an eye on their website or alternatively you can follow their twitter account @whatisinside

If you think you already know whatisinside then do drop by their website http://whatisinside.com.my and enter the contest, you might stand a chance to win prizes worth up to RM 2,599 !!
